For us to become healthier we need to listen to our bodies. And what better way to do that than by learning to quiet our busy minds? Meditation can be intimidating for a beginner, but it does not need to be. All you need is a quiet place to sit, a few minutes of your time (and really, five minutes will do you wonders), and a peaceful cd with soothing music and sounds. And the reward for this investment in yourself? The benefits of mediation are too many to count:
‘Increases exercise tolerance in heart patients. Leads to a deeper level of relaxation. Reduces anxiety attacks. Decreases muscle tension and headaches. Builds self-confidence. Enhances the immune system. Reduces activity of viruses and emotional distress.’

ReplyDeleteI meditate every morning. It has made a world of difference in my life, I've been doing it almost 5 years and it has changed things!
ReplyDeleteThe first photo in the meditation pose brings back memories of the first time I went to a yoga class. We were instructed to close our eyes, which I did, then suddenly I hear this LOUD HMMMMMMMM and scared I opened my eyes to see everyone had their eyes closed and were humming away. I was a naive student and only after poking my friend's arm did I learn it was meditation.
ReplyDeletei could probably use some meditation & prayer right now!
