happy week.end

oh my! I spent few days without posting but I'm back now!
last thursday I found out about a last minute road trip.
in four days I had to get everything packed and set to spend the next six weeks on the road with my baby girl. it took lots of time and energy.

I left Seattle on tuesday and spent a day in Portland - which I love.

yesterday I drove myself and my baby girl (following mr J)
for 17 hours to get to Lodi/CA.

on the next weeks we'll be driving down the coast and chasing the sun.

Want a postcard from the road?
send me your address through my contact form at housenine designs.
the first 25 emails will receive a card from my 6 week california journey.

happy week.end

this friday is a really happy friday! it still rains here but I just found out I will be heading here: for six weeks... in four days...YE-AY!

mr J and I first heard of this 'trip' two days ago... he has to drive down to Cali for about six weeks, and I can stay home with the baby or... I can follow him!
I think I might be partially blind to the challenges coming my way due to excitement.
different cities, multiple hotels, myself plus the baby in the car for hours, and hours...
and also....
beaches, and parks, and blue skies, and warmth and the road!
I think I can handle.... I think I should handle.
any one from there?any ideas?

bluegrass love

my latest blog design was done for Lauren from Kentucky! I simply love her title and the feel of her page. click on the picture, take a peek, share some love and tell me how do you like it! ...it's almost friday...

fashion tech

spring brings everything colorful and pretty. this year hp mini notebook features gold and butterflies. designed by Viviene Tam the new 'digital clutch' is inspired by the classic chinese love story "Butterfly Lover". retailing for around $600 it can be a cute alternative for brighter days. would you go for it?

gift quest - part one

daily beauty

in a campaign against size 0 a UK based company that specializes in lingerie for D-KK cup sizes, sent their customers an email inviting them to apply to be part of their new campaign. out of the 600 applicants, 40 were then invited for the casting where it was whittled down to the last five women.
the photos are lovely with an incredible vintage appeal. here are some of the finalists, who according to them are 'beautiful yet attainable.'

green dreams

this restored six-bedroom farmhouse was recently bought for £4 million by a lucky lottery winner couple. the mansion is now almost completely carbon neutral and runs on just 10 per cent of the energy a normal household needs.

the 400-year-old dairy farm buildings are completely airtight and feature a "solar park" where heat from the sun is captured in 20 panels. the energy is stored in rocks in the ground and distributed to underfloor heating in the house and the swimming pool. The buildings also have a very low humidity level to stop dust mites, smells and condensation.

like all the green features weren't enough to fall in love with this dream house, see below some of the eco-palace interior design, oh my!
